Health matters; good health does. So do mechanical investigations and discoveries. A large part of what was written was actually written in the open country. On a sea shore or a sacred lake, on a hillside or a mountain top, beneath an olive tree or an oak, or in the shadow of some great rock. What he has felt and found he has tried to trace upon the silent page for other eyes to see and other hearts to enjoy. Whether wisely done or otherwise, herein is revealed the reason of that rural abandon in matter and manner with which the reader is everywhere saluted.
